From the vantage point of the Queensboro Bridge, I captured an image of the Roosevelt Tram gliding along its cables. Up close, the tram is impressively large, designed to accommodate many passengers and built to withstand the weight and the winds. From my perspective, however, the people inside appeared very small, almost miniature, emphasizing the vast scale of both the tram and the city itself. This perspective shift intrigued me—just as I viewed them as tiny figures from my elevated position, they likely perceived me as equally small from their aerial view. In capturing this scene, I aimed to highlight the contrast between the massive, enduring structures of the city and the fleeting, diminutive scale of its human inhabitants, a juxtaposition that underscores the grandeur and the humility of urban life.
